  Valeriote goes after identity thieves

This week, Guelph MP Frank Valeriote tabled a private member's bill in Parliament on identity theft that he believes carries the weight of appropriate punishment for the crime.

Valeriote said he noticed identity theft becoming a growing problem when he was still practising law.

A private member's bill on the issue was tabled several years ago, he said, but an election call scuttled it....
