  500,000 Canadians rely on a needy auto industry, Guelph MP tells people at town hall meeting

Every aspect of the auto industry, from repair shops to pensions, and the environment dominated a town hall meeting with Guelph MP Frank Valeriote last night at the Italian Canadian Club.

People had questions and, as a member of a Parliamentary committee studying the crisis in the auto industry, Valeriote had answers for the roughly 100 people who attended the public forum.

"The auto industry is indispensable to the economic health of Canada," Valeriote said. "It is not an option to simply let this industry fail."
